The Havening Technique refers to “find a safe haven”. This approach uses the extrasensory aspect of touch to alter pathways that create distress. The technique includes eye movements, and other sensory inputs to reduce stress, anxiety, and discomfort. This therapeutic technique harnesses the power of touch to stimulate oxytocin which is a good feeling hormone, that allows us to reduce distressing thoughts and feelings. Havening was developed by Rudin a neuroscientist in 2010. Havening Touch involves a simple touch of the hands, upper arms and face by yourself. Again, the therapist will assess you to ensure the therapy is best suited for you. They will then demonstrate the technique as you follow their lead. Usually, it takes about 15 minutes to complete the technique.

I have been amazed by the therapeutic benefits of this therapy.
