When a couple’s relationship is struggling it is often marked by emotional distance, unresolved conflict, and breakdowns in communication. You may feel misunderstood, disconnected, or stuck in negative cycles—like constant arguing, criticism, or avoidance. Trust and intimacy often erode over time, and even small issues can trigger disproportionate emotional responses. Despite love or commitment, you may feel lonely within the relationship, unsure how to repair the bond or move forward in a healthy way.
The Gottman Relationship Theory, was developed by therapists Dr's John and Julie Gottman. They developed the 'Sound Relationship House' which is a framework for understanding and improving romantic relationships. Their research was based over four decades with thousands of couples.
I have found the Gottman framework extremely effective, and have successfully worked with couples, to ensure that their unique needs have been met.
